It’s our MISSON to protect our small-town charm
While encouraging a diverse and robust economic system.
We are working to preserve and promote our local downtown as the community hub and a collective sense of place.

Projects that foster economic vitality in our downtown, and encourage folks to buy-local and use our local service based businesses.

Committees that gather community feedback and foster the economic vitality of our historic main street.

Events that bring folks together and promote the businesses in our community.

A Virginia Exploring Main Street
The Virginia Main Street Program is a preservation-based economic and community development program that follows the Main Street Approach by the National Main Street Center. Virginia Main Street is a Main Street America State Coordinating Program that offers a range of services and assistance to communities interested in revitalizing their historic commercial districts.
While the program was designed to address the need for revitalization and on-going management of smaller to mid-sized downtowns, aspects of the Main Street Approach may be applied successfully in other commercial settings.

Buy Local, Virginia Made
“If you have a choice between buying something in Vietnam or China or buying something made in Virginia, why not buy it from people in Virginia? A lot of times, it’s not much more expensive or may even be less.”

Eventually, she moved into IT Operations and spent ten plus years supporting enterprise organizations and managing teams of IT Administrators and Specialists.
